Made up of Jamie Handover and Mark Thorne, HOO HAs want to transport you to the sweaty dancefloors of live music venues. Their latest release ‘Tell Me How It Is’ is a collage of clips from recent live shows, aching for the live thrill of woozy bass lines and slick guitar riffs.
“Tell Me How It Is” is a testament to the difficulty of coming to terms with the end of a relationship. Featuring Simon Nilson (Francobollo) on drums and Jack Driver (Damsen) on bass, ‘Tell Me How It Is’ layers alt-rock instrumentation with Jamie’s brutally honest lyricism to create a hypnotic mix.
“You know that feeling when you look back on a relationship and you know things could have been said earlier. When you realise it is over, you both know it - it’s about being honest quicker, saving the drama and pain. Everyone has experienced regret, when being honest is hard but it just needs to get done!” the pair explain.
Led by duo Jamie Handover and Mark Thorne, HOO HAs capture life’s nuances with their candid songwriting, often imbuing failure, love and politics into their musical creations.
