Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant the designer duo who were once appointed as creative directors by the Courreges brand owners, Jacques Bungert and Ferderic Torloting have left their duties of the fashion brand, a b brand they were brought in to inject some life into. Call it reinventing.
A statement released by the fashion house regarding the departure of Sebaastien Meyer and Arnnaud Vaillant had this to say
"The house Courrèges and the creative duo have mutually decided to end their collaboration, at the helm of the creative and artistic direction of the brand since 2015, Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant have brought into the brand their vision and talent. They have accomplished the goal to reinterpret the house codes and distinctive shapes that are synonym of the brand uniqueness and innovative spirit."
It is worthy to mention that the creative duo who met at Mod’Art International Paris in 2009 and had their own their brand naked COPERNI but had to let it take a back seat they focused on the reinventing the Courreges. Another credentials that can be said about the creative duo is that, they were once shortlisted for the LVMH prize award. Their final departure only leaves us to think what their next step will be. Is it going to be COPERNI? We wait to see.
Now one may ask what' s next for the Courreges as far as who will taking over as the new creative director is concerned. A name that has been mentioned as the successor is Francois le Menhaze. Francois was appointed president in April this year and his role will be leading and communicating a new creative leadership.
