Wild Model | Interview

ROUGH teams up with WILD MANAGEMENT, one of London's leading and established model agencies, on ROUGH YOUNG THING-a spotlight feature on some of their models in the form of Q&A concourse centered on questions from modeling, the pressures, to any self-discoveries during the quarantine period. The idea is to allow the said model to take the spotlight to share their different facets, which you will notice from this interview with Carolina Vigunda, this week's ROUGH Young Thing.

Argentinian-born Carolina is just as any hardworking model, is becoming a recognizable face in the industry, and has graced the runways of Milan, London, New York, and Paris. And with that said, if you are a Vogue magazine fanatic, you've probably seen her in an editorial story. Shooting for a notable company like Estee lauder is undoubtedly another accolade added to Carolina's photo-shoot career.

This interview, ROUGH speaks to the gentle-spirited Argentinian-born WILD MANAGEMENT model about her modeling career, future modeling, mental health, and more.

ROUGH: To start of this interview, how would you describe yourself as a way of introducing yourself?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO:  My name is Carolina Vignudo, I am from Argentina and I have always dreamed of being a model since childhood. I use to travel the world thanks to my work. I am a simple person who loves helping others. I always strive to achieve my goals.

ROUGH:  Every girl that get signed to an agency has a story of how it happened? Can you tell ROUGH yours?

It all started in 2016 when I went with some friends to the biggest costume party in my country. In the middle of the night, we ran into some guys who told me they owned a modelling agency called Look1 and that I had potential to become a model. They asked me for my information and gave me their card. The following day we contacted each other and everything started. Currently, Look1 is my mother agency in Argentina.
ROUGH:  How did you feel when you did your first ever fashion show or photoshoot?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO: I will never forget it, I felt incredible, I had inexplicable happiness. I told myself this is my thing. Both when I did my first photoshoot and a fashion show.

ROUGH:  Which would rather do more, editorial shoots or fashion shows and why?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO:   I like to do both but I prefer to do editorial because I feel like I can do different things on the same shoot day and also have a closer relationship with the team.

ROUGH: Having a positive mind in your line of work is very important. What do you do stay positive mentally and physically?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO: If it is true, it is very important to have a positive mentality; and what I do is doing meditations and yoga, I also read quite a good number of spiritual books which help me be mentally positive. In reference to the physical aspect, training every day is very helpful to me.
ROUGH:  What makes a good model in your opinion and do you think everyone can be a model?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO: What makes a good model is to have discipline, attitude and security, also to have good eating habits and be regular with physical training. I think they can all be models, but if they did not have the height required for this profession, they might work in the commercial market.

ROUGH:  Pressure comes with being a model in all shapes and forms, what are some of the coping mechanism, you've developed to counter any pressure you might come under?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO: I have learned a lot about meditating which calms me down and helps me a lot when I have to deal with stressing and pressure
situations

ROUGH:  Do you care to share any of the beauty tips you swear by?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO: For the last three years, I have been drinking lemon juice and warm water on an empty stomach. That
makes me feel great. I am a vegan and eating vegetables has helped my body and skin a lot. It is very important to rest well and drink plenty of water. Cleaning and hydration of the skin every morning and night is very important.

ROUGH:  As the quarantine law eases, what would you say you've learnt about yourself during your isolation period and what impact is it going have moving forward in the future as a model?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO: In this quarantine, I have learned many things. The most important has been learning to listen to me, to understand me and love me more which has benefited both my career and personality, I spent the quarantine alone in an apartment in Buenos Aires that led me to be creative and to do new things. Also, I thanked for the many good moments I have lived in my life and with my beloved ones. I was able to see the need for the people and I started to help them by sending non-perishable food to a children's dining room.
ROUGH:  As a 'ROUGH YOUNG THING,' what does the definition of 'young' means to you?

CAROLINA VIGNUDO: To me “young” means having an open mind, being in constant personal development and ready to learn for good from others who can give you a word of advice, living fully and always keeping a positive attitude towards life.
