Ready to dive into the world of pasta? The Pasta Evangelists' Pasta Academy brings Italy right to your doorstep, no plane ticket required! Imagine wrapping your taste buds around Puglia’s orecchiette or Rome's fettuccine, all while learning to cook them like a pro.

In case you haven't been in the loop, the Pasta Evangelists Pasta Bar at Harrods opened in 2021 and offers mouthwatering dishes like Pappardelle with Aberdeen Angus Ragù, Black Truffle Cacio e Pepe, and Spicy Lobster Spaghetti. Talk about tickling your taste buds!

Now back to our pasta-filled adventure. We had the chance to check out one of their masterclasses at the Farringdon branch, boy were we in for an experiential treat! Chef Alex was nothing short of spectacular - a pasta artist with a side of stand-up comedian!

The room was filled with couples and some lovely fellow reviewers who joined our table, all eagerly waiting to learn the art of fresh pasta making from scratch. Chef Alex guided us through each step while cracking up some hilarious jokes that had us in stitches.

We began with creating a flour and egg forte before kneading them together to create the dough - this took a bit of manpower. Thankfully, the Chef Alex swooped in to save the dough! While our hands were coated in flour, our bellies were being pampered with some delicious antipasti and unlimited prosecco (or lemonade for those opting out of the alcohol).

The following act was all about mastering ravioli with cream cheese – like learning a new magic trick! As I rolled and cut my ravioli, I felt like a pasta Picasso. Finally, four gorgeous pieces of ravishing ravioli cooked to perfection and served with herbs and parmesan was my pièce de résistance!

Although the portion could've been bigger, now that I've earned my pasta stripes, more homemade scrumptiousness awaits me at home. And if I ever find myself in a pasta predicament, you bet Chef Alex's masterclass is first on my list for a refresher (and some quality jokes, of course)!
