Every week ROUGH ONLINE in collaboration with Music News and Liberty Music Pr looks at the best new releases from emerging and self-releasing artists.
Somebody’s Child – ‘Hold Me Like You Wanna’
With his new EP ’20-Something’ set to drop in August this year, Dublin-based singer and songwriter Somebody’s Child is back once again with that same uplifting flow on his new single ‘Hold Me Like You Wanna’. Filled with bright and euphoric indie-rock overtones, his newest offering sees him return in stellar form in this bold and passionate new release.
Mom Rock – ‘I Am The Same’
After first finding each other through a shared love of Weezer, Boston-based outfit Mom Rock now channel the likes of Catfish & The Bottlemen and Cage The Elephant on this fresh and energetic new cut ‘I Am The Same’. Bringing back more of those catchy riffs and soaring choruses, their latest delight is the perfect soundtrack to blitzing across the country in a flashy convertible with the top down.
Maverick Sabre – ‘Slow Down’ ft. Jorja Smith (Slow Motion & Vintage Culture Remix)

With an incredible 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, producer Vintage Culture is one of the most in-demand artists to work with today, and has now unveiled his latest remix of the Maverick Sabre and Jorja Smith collaboration ‘Slow Down’, alongside Slow Motion. With its smooth yet pulsing aesthetic, this new rework completely reinvents the soulful original, transforming it into the perfect 3am anthem for any nightclub.
Reva DeVito – ‘The Supply’
Having garnered a whopping 10 million streams on her previous EP ‘The Move’, Portland-based singer Reva DeVito now looks to continue that incredible form as she shares her latest sweeping release ‘The Supply’. Combining sweet and sensual RnB vocals with a funk-filled production, this new offering looks to cement her as one of the most exciting new artists to emerge from the United States of late.
Diego Philips – ‘Smile’
With a strong affinity for fellow singer-songwriters such as Damien Rice, Ben Howard and Michael Kiwanuka, Belgian artist Diego Phillips now returns with his latest soulful gem ‘Smile’. With a largely upbeat and light-hearted aesthetic, his newest release borrows elements from the laid-back world of surf-rock to create a warm and inviting lo-fi delight.
