Having already found praise from the likes of BBC 1Xtra and Time Out Dubai for his previous releases, Australian-born but Dubai-based singer and songwriter Jaymie Deville
has now returned to his soaring ways with the release of his latest groove-filled single ‘Nowhere Fast’.
‘Nowhere Fast’ looks to pull away from the trap-infused R&B of his previous cut ‘Rendezvous’ and sees him arrive at a more atmospheric R&B noir, inspired by the likes of Jamie Woon, Frank Ocean and The Weeknd. Producer Rayan Bailouni creates a slick backdrop of propulsive beats and cushioned synths on which Jaymie’s feather-light falsetto illustrates a dysfunctional and toxic relationship.
Speaking about the new release, he said, “The track is about the realisation that there's nothing left in it anymore. It's a moment that is hopeful but mortal. It's about moving forward with a high spirit.”
