2018 seems to be the year for Alt-Rock and Nu-Metal bands breaking onto the music scene after what feels like an eternity, on this occasion with the “in-your-face,” relentlessly loud The Touch, who had travelled all the way from Athens to England’s musical capital London to finish recording the rest of their forthcoming debut E.P “Seventy Seven” which comes out October 29th. Just to share a piece of their authentic sound, The Touch recently released two brand new singles entitled “Solution” and “You Can,” in which the former does not shy away from “Thrash” one bit, with the use of Stelios’ distorted, “overdrive”-effected rhythm guitar and energetic vocals in the first verse, that instantly makes you want to body band and crowd surf, especially to the up-tempo drums and band member John’s skilfully played lead electric in the song’s introduction. And of course “Solution” would not be the same without a banging chorus, which showcases lead singer Constantine’s raspy voice that gives their debut single just that little bit more darkness and edge, a distinctive sound that when watching the official music video makes complete sense, specifically The Touch’s frontman whose performance is so intense at times that it throws you back to the visuals of The Prodigy’s 1996 UK hit single “Firestarter.”

On the other hand “You Can” takes on a completely different journey and for all the right reasons. Although The Touch did not soften their sound for the sake of creating a Pop-Rock song with a great hook in anyway, which Rough Online applaud for keeping their music real, “You Can” delves a little closer to being “radio-friendly” via the use of a memorable, major to minor chord structure and catchy melodies. You cannot in anyway deny that You Can’s chorus is a definite ear-grabber, because of Constantine’s powerhouse voice behind heartfelt lyrics “run as fast as you can away from the past, it only makes you feel bad” sung solely using his chest voice, in a very powerful performance proving his worthiness as one of the best Rock vocalists Rough Online has listened to all year, reminiscent of singer Lauri Ylonen from The Rasmus when singing in his lower register, and of Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger when rising to his higher register. However, You Can’s finale cleverly reminds you of the real point of this band……that their a Hard Rock act, via an epic outro section full of fierce “overdrive” lead guitars, in a world where their second single never started. If you want to hear some Rock music at its’ finest, download and stream The Touch’s two new singles “Solution” and “You Can” out now on all online stores.
