GRAMMY-NOMINATED ARTIST MIKE POSNER RELEASES NEW SINGLE 'SONG ABOUT YOU'

Since he is the songwriter behind hit singles such as Justin Bieber’s Billboard No.2 track “Boyfriend” and Labrinth’s UK Number 1 ballad with Emeli Sande “Beneath Your Beautiful,” Mike Posner was bound to enter 2018 with one of the year’s biggest bangers to date, the singer and songwriter has entitled “Song About You.” However, this is not standard Posner-style because, of course, we expected another radio-friendly Synth-Pop song, like the track that gave him a name in the music industry overnight...2010’s ”Cooler Than Me.” On the other hand, “Song About You,” has something a bit different to offer and Rough Online love the new direction Posner has taken his music in, for its’ raw, distorted, Rock vocal performance, catchy Guitar riff, which when it is performed delivers some Spanish-influence in the way the arpeggio is played, and Hip-Hop style drum programming, an overall music production which is a million miles away from Posner’s previous portfolio, and Rough simply love the fact that his music only just got that little more unusual and weirder (you’ll know exactly what we mean when that surreal, yet simply infectious melody grabs you).

Easily comparable to Sk8er Punk meets Hip-Hop, “Song About You” will either throw you back to the early career of Eminem or Rap Metal band Crazy Town, best known for their 2000 hit single “Butterfly.” Judging by Posner’s new track, it would be fair to assume that the singer has stepped away from mainstream Electro, R&B Pop sound which kicked off his career and is delving into something a lot more deeper here, and Rough Online seriously cannot wait to hear his forthcoming third studio album.
