Charlee Remitz already has a huge portfolio of singles, E.Ps and even an album from 2015 called Bright White Trims which garnered positive music reviews from critics, behind her. However, her new track “To Tell You The Truth” is the most radio-friendly, glittery, Pop-happy song she has released to date, and ROUGH ONLINE are a little bit obsessed with its’ Dreamy music production, and her relaxed vocal which at times throws us back to when X-Factor’s Diana Vickers was also releasing music in a similar vein. Beginning with a washy, throwback 80’s-style synth and a vocal reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s cool, subtle tone, you know from the outset that this will be a delicious Electro-Pop treat, similar to previous Charlee singles like “Fillin’ In For A Goddess,” “1000 Ruined Holidays” or even fans’ favourite “BMW,” all of which deliver that Synth, occasionally R&B-esque sound which we love to dance around to in the summer.

The use of an auto-tuned, “flanger” effect on her vocal during the bridge section, reminiscent of early Kesha, makes you feel as though a banging chorus is on its’ way, but Charlee cleverly and unpredictably so keeps its’ main hook “to tell you the truth, I’ve never been so confused” very relaxed, with the use of light keyboard production, and a steady Dance beat. You could even think of Remitz’s new track as a more “dancy” version of Swift’s recent single “Delicate,” or even a throwback to her classic “1989” album era. Either way, Charlee Remitz has proved that she is an unusual one, who quite simply wants to send her audience into a trance and suck you into her musical world of Electro-Pop wonder, which production-wise with its’ use of meditative synthesisers represents the song’s concept of confusion perfectly.

If Alisha’s Attic ever made a comeback it would probably sound a little something like this, and ROUGH ONLINE have a feeling that Remitz’s forthcoming new album will musically be within a more positive, uplifting-natured realm in comparison to her previous, slightly more melancholic works. It’s great to see that Charlee Remitz has discovered a new found brightness to her art that promises an even more thriving career for the singer. Check out her best song to date “To Tell You The Truth,” out now on Spotify.
